The power supply of optical transceiver is normal, but it can’t work. What should I do

    In this era of high-tech development, new high-tech products are all over our lives, providing great convenience for our lives. As far as optical transceiver is concerned, we all know that optical transceiver has been widely used in the field of security monitoring, which ensures the safety of these necessary occasions. So in our daily use, the power supply of optical transceiver is normal, but it can’t work. What should we do?
A. The monitor screen is black, and the data and camera control functions are normal.
    1. Unplug the optical fiber from the optical port. If the screen is no longer black but there are snowflakes, the light connection may be good.
    2. Ensure that the video BNC connection between optical terminals is intact.
B. The monitor screen has Snowflakes (noise), and the data and camera control functions are normal. This shows that there is something wrong with the light part. Continue with the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Unplug the fiber from the optical port of the transmitter and insert a fiber jumper.
    2. Insert the other end of the jumper into the optical power meter.
    (a) If the reading is inconsistent with the index, it indicates that there is something wrong with the transmitter and it should be replaced.
    (b) If the reading meets the specification, proceed to the next step.
    3. Check the connector. If it’s dirty, wipe it with isopropyl alcohol.
    4. Connect the original optical fiber to the optical port of the transmitter. At the receiver end, the above steps 2 to 3 are performed. The reading of the optical power meter should at least reach the minimum calibration value of the input energy of the receiver.
    (a) If the reading is slightly low, there may be a problem with the optical fiber and it should be replaced.
    (b) If the reading is very low, the cable may be damaged and should be replaced.
    (c) If the reading is normal, there is something wrong with the receiver and it should be replaced.
    C. The video is normal, but there is something wrong with the camera control. This shows that optical fiber is good. When the fiber attenuation increases, the loss of video will be greater than that of PTZ control data.
    1. Before transmitting the control signal of PTZ, check the TD (data activity) led on the receiver. When the data is transmitted, the indicator light is always on, or it flashes following your operation. If this is not the case and there is no problem with the electrical connection, the receiver may have a problem and need to be replaced.
    2. When the control signal of PTZ is sent to the transmitter, which is the other end connected with the optical fiber, the RD indicator light is always on, or flashes with your operation, and the electrical connection is correct, but the control of the camera still can’t work normally, it means that the transmitter has a problem and should be replaced. If the RD indicator is not on, there may be a problem with the transmitter or the receiver. Contact the manufacturer for further guidance.
    In view of the problem that the power supply of optical transceiver is normal but can’t run, I believe that everyone has got a better solution through the above overview!
