What is E1 to Ethernet Converter

Industrial communication requires information sharing and data exchange between multiple devices. Commonly used industrial control equipment communication ports include RS-232, RS-485, CAN, network, etc. Due to different interface protocols, it is difficult to exchange operation information between heterogeneous networks. Different interface devices can be networked through multi-protocol converters to realize intercommunication between devices. Based on multiple communication ports and various protocols, a wide variety of protocol converters are formed. The main categories are E1/Ethernet protocol converter, RS-232/485/422/CAN converter/RS-232/485/CAN converter, etc. Today, we will talk about E1 Ethernet protocol converter.

Introduction of E1 Ethernet Converter

The existing protocol converters based on E1 and Ethernet are mainly divided into E1/Ethernet series and E1/V.35 series. Using E1 link to transmit Ethernet data has a wide range of applications in reality. Since the data transmission protocol standards of E1 and Ethernet are different, a protocol converter is needed to complete the data conversion between them. Existing E1/Ethernet protocol converters convert data based on the transmission capacity of the entire E1.

Convert Ethernet signal or V.35 signal into E1 signal, and use E1 signal for long-distance transmission on synchronous/quasi-synchronous digital network. The main purpose is to extend the transmission distance between the Ethernet signal and the V.35 signal, and it is a network access device.

Protocol gateways typically perform protocol translation between areas of the network that use different protocols. This conversion process can take place at layer 2, layer 3, or between layers 2 and 3 of the OSI reference model. However, there are two protocol gateways that do not provide translation capabilities: secure gateways and pipes. Due to the logical differences between two interconnected network areas, a security gateway is a necessary intermediary between two technically similar network areas. such as private wide area networks and the public Internet.
