Industrial USB to 2-Port RS485 Converter Cable (3KV isolation/6KV lightning protection)

The basic function of the FC-2106 device is USB to 2-port 3KV isolation/6KV lightning protection high-speed RS485. The device is powered by the USB port and does not require an external power supply. It utilizes a unique zero-delay automatic transmit/receive conversion technology, supports plug-and-play with all software, and features transmit/receive enable control. In idle mode without data transmission, the output is in a high-impedance state. It also supports multi-point communication.

The FC-2106 device has the following features:

● It comes with an industrial-grade structured USB cable that has a high braiding density, braided shielding, magnetic ring shielding, and a metal wire strain relief. The cable is available in three lengths: 0.5m, 1.5m, and 3m.

● The device emulates a standard serial port, allowing for the upgrade of existing peripheral devices or the addition of extra serial ports through USB.

● It offers full compatibility with serial port applications on Windows operating systems without the need for any modifications.

● The hardware of the device includes built-in transmit/receive buffers, and its 2-channel RS485 interfaces support communication baud rates ranging from 1200bps to 10Mbps.

● It is suitable for operating systems such as Win98/2K/XP, WIN10/WIN11 for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

● The communication cable utilizes copper shielded twisted pair wires with a minimum cross-sectional area of 0.5mm. It supports maximum communication distances of 3000 meters (4800bps), 2000 meters (9600bps), and 1000 meters (115.2Kbps).

● It can accommodate a minimum of 128 network nodes, and the maximum number of network nodes is determined by the RS485 input impedance of each node.

● It is equipped with 5 LED indicators: a red LED for power, orange LEDs for data reception on the 2-channel serial ports, and green LEDs for data transmission on the 2-channel serial ports. These LEDs provide convenient status monitoring.

● The device has a gold-plated USB port and is powered by USB. It operates with a working current of less than 30mA. The USB interface is protected against electrostatic discharge with a capacity of ±15kV (air) and ±8kV (contact). It also offers EFT protection of up to 40A (5/50ns) and lightning protection of up to 5A (8/20us).

● The RS485 interface of the device is equipped with 3KV isolation. When connected to high voltages such as AC220V or AC380V for an extended period, only the RS485 interface will be affected, while the USB port and connected devices remain unharmed.

● The RS485 interface features three-level lightning protection, meeting the GB/T17626.5 (IEC61000-4-5) standard. It can withstand short-circuit current waves of 10/700μs and open-circuit peak output voltage of 6KV with a resistance of 40Ω.

● It operates in a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +85°C.
