TDM over IP

E1 TDM over Ethernet (IP) Converter, Voice over Ethernet (IP) Converter, V.24/V.35 over Ethernet (IP) Converter.

Plan the TDM service and the packet network together

TDM over IP carries a defined circuit service through a packet network. Confirm service mapping, clock behavior and the intervening network rather than treating Ethernet connectivity as proof of circuit compatibility.

  • Record E1 or other supported service interfaces, framing, signaling and channel requirements for both endpoints.
  • Verify the clock source, clock-recovery mode and allowed timing behavior for the actual application.
  • Check packet delay variation, loss, bandwidth, QoS and buffer settings across the complete path.
  • Confirm startup, interruption and recovery behavior with the real service, retaining configuration and test evidence.
Selection questions and technical guides

Is an E1 physical connector enough to prove compatibility?

No. Electrical interface, framing, signaling, channel mapping and clock requirements must also match.

Can an IP ping replace an end-to-end circuit test?

No. Reachability alone does not validate the carried service, timing or recovery behavior.
