USB to RS232/RS485 Converter (3KV isolation/6KV lightning protection)

The device provides the basic functionality of a USB to RS232/RS485 interface with 3KV isolation and 6KV lightning protection (RS232, RS485 cannot be used simultaneously). It is powered by a USB port, eliminating the need for an external power supply. It employs a unique zero-delay automatic transmission and reception conversion technology, making it plug-and-play compatible with any software. It also features transmit/receive enable control, where the output remains in a high-impedance state during standby mode when no data is being transmitted. The device supports multi-point communication.

Distinguishing itself from other low-cost products on the market, this product offers the following features:

● Industrial-grade operating temperature range (-40℃ ~ +85℃).

● Serial interface with 3KV isolation (protecting the USB port from AC~380V input) and 6KV three-level lightning protection (10/700us current wave, internal resistance of 40Ω).

● Gold-plated USB port with built-in TVS protection (±15kV air discharge and ±8kV contact discharge).

● Equipped with isolated 5V power output (2W).

● Includes three LED indicators: Power (red), Serial Data Receive (orange), and Serial Data Transmit (green).

● The device features a full-speed USB interface, compatible with USB v2.0.

● The USB port is gold-plated, and the device is powered via USB. The operating current is less than 30mA. The USB interface provides protection against electrostatic discharge up to ±15kV (air) and ±8kV (contact), EFT protection up to 40A (5/50ns), and lightning protection up to 5A (8/20us).

● The RS232/485 serial ports are equipped with 3KV isolation. When exposed to long-term high voltages of AC220V or AC380V, only the RS485 interface may be affected, without damaging the USB port or connected devices.

● The RS232/485 interfaces provide three-level lightning protection, meeting the GB/T17626.5 (IEC61000-4-5) standard with a short-circuit current wave of 10/700μs and an open-circuit peak output voltage of 6KV with an internal resistance of 40Ω.

● Working temperature ranging from -40°C to +85°C.

● It has passed 100% burn-in testing.
